Fierce Woman Feature – Wendy Lewis

Wendy Lewis is an inspiring, trailblazing, and fierce leader. Based on what I have read and witnessed in person, I could expound on her for pages. Ms. Lewis and an amazing list of other advocate leaders were panelists for the Kellogg Alumni Club of Chicago’s (KACC) recent program honoring Black History Month. NextGroup is proud to be one of the KACC sponsors.

The program included a showing of Beyond Their Years, The Incredible Legacies of Herb\Carnegie and Buck O’Neil (which you should totally check out if you haven’t seen), followed by a panel discussion on their experience related to the ongoing pursuit of equity in sports, business, and society overall. Wendy is the Executive Producer of the film, the most recent of a long line of outstanding contributions.  Wendy, a fellow Kellogg alumna, served as the Chicago Cub’s first HR leader and went on to lead DEI, HR, and Strategic Alliances for the Office of the Commissioner at the MLB. Talk about taking a bat to class walls and ceilings!  Now, she leads her own business as CEO of Wendy Lewis LLC, where she is the creator of AllySHIFT™, a progressive and seismic platform for advocacy and sustainable equity.  She brings her history, expertise, and excellence to corporations so that they can actually move the needle on the narratives we verbalize about advancing equity and inclusion. She is fierce for so many reasons, but AllySHIFT is truly fundamental and monumental in showing businesses how to act on their intent and go beyond putting the onus on black and brown leaders to “fix” the system. I am honored to have learned from Ms. Lewis and witnessed firsthand her fiercedom!  Thank you to the Kellogg Alumni Club of Chicago, Kellogg Black Management Association, and the Kellogg School of Management for featuring this program in our house!
